It is designed to give aspiring young sports journalists, photographers and TV assistants from around the world the opportunity to gain valuable Media experience at an international sporting event.

Trainee journalists get to interview athletes and report on the competition, while photographers are tasked with capturing all of the action on the ice and behind the scenes.

The TV assistants will gain hands-on experience of a live TV sports host broadcast production.

The work of the trainee journalists and photographers will be published not only on the WCF event website and social Media but may also feature on their own Member Association's website and social Media (where available) as well as in mainstream Media publications.

Trainees are also given the opportunity to experience webcast productions during the Championships.

This unique opportunity gives students the chance to develop journalistic, photography or TV production skills in a practical setting, providing them with vital knowledge and experience which will help them progress prospective careers within the Media industry.

Entries to those aged between 18 and 30 years old who were in full-time education (over 12 hours per week) and had a passion for sport and a keen interest in writing, photography or television.

The WCF cover all travel and accommodation costs as well as provide a monetary allowance for trainees each day.
