During the closing ceremony of the World Junior-B Curling Championships 2018, it was announced that the Kisakallio Sports Institute will hosts the next edition of the event between 3 and 10 January in 2019, and the World Wheelchair-B Curling Championship 2018 from 9 to 15 November.

These events will qualify the last teams for the World Junior Curling Championships 2019 [17-24 February] in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Canada and the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2019 [2-8 March] in Stirling, Scotland.

The World Wheelchair-B event has been hosted twice before in Lohja, in 2015 and 2016, so has the Junior-B in 2016 and 2018.

World Curling Federation President Kate Caithness said: “The Kisakallio Sports Institute proves to be a first-class venue for these events and I am delighted that the organising committee and Finnish Curling Association are eager to continue hosting them in 2018 and 2019.”

Lauri Ikävalko from the local organising committee said: “After another successful event this week we are delighted the World Curling Federation has put their faith in us to host future junior and wheelchair curling events.”
